![]() Windows native music is removed, this is to keep parity with the Unix-like versions Medusa bug is fixed (in order to provide better playability on those wads that suffer from this problem) such as Auger Zenith if played on ports that do not fix it Support for many Crispy Doom additions to support a larger range of WADS Limits are removed, Sprinkled Doom is now a strong, vanilla limit-removing port Ok, so a new release has finally happened after squishing all the major bugs: It could also say something about the new generation of fans or the era Doom is made in. The minute people started to compare TAG2 to MCU Avengers also made me question something about people imagining Doomguy beating Thanos: do they imagine the same with other characters?Īnd i mean Thanos as if some modern nerd where to rank how strong characters are and use Thanos as a reference for a certain line: "if X can cross this line, they are really strong" To be, the starting point was the UAC being responsible for cybernetic demons, when Hell having tech and the SKINTEK wall texture are unique aspects of Doom's Hell.ĭoom's Hell probably has a lot of potential to be stranger. Specially when you look at wads or fanart that were unofficially "expanding" or "exploring" the series, with crazy designs and ideas. Some being to make Hell stronger, to make Doomguy stronger. Like, if people really wanted Doomguy to be so powerful, they would have been more critical or certain decisions in terms of lore, art or even gameplay. It kinda makes me question whether or not they are aware of other media and how it portrays Hell. To me, it's also because of the audience Doom has, where Doomguy HAS to be the strongest character and the series must be the most heavy metal series and so on. Will update this review if I ever get it. I will, however, keep it on my hard drive and return to it from time to time. ![]() I wanted to adore this project, but I just cannot connect with it. In he middle of the level you typically get a chaingun.Īnd that just turns the game into a platformer for me, which is fine, just not my kind of gameplay. These levels are more about running around quickly with a gun, a berserk pack and a shotgun with only a few shells. When faced with a lot of strong enemies, I would like to be able to get them down with a double shotgun or a rocket launcher. What didn't work for me in this megawad - as far as I checked it out, playing several levels from different packs - was gameplay geared towards maneuverability and making it without strong weapons and much ammo. Which is fine, no wad is made for every player. I love SkillSaw's work and this is a magnificent wad, but I am writing this review to mark it for folks like me, who would love the level design, but wouldn't connect with the gameplay. ![]()
